House of Fencing (Epee) is founded by Coach Charlene Kai Liu.

Liu is the Head Coach of Brown Fencing and a current member of the U.S. National team.

Liu has been fencing for 16 years and coaching for 6 years in both the club and collegiate world.

Prior to Brown, Liu served as an assistant coach at Yale University and fenced on the Princeton Fencing team during their time there.

Liu’s coaching philosophy centers on holistic athlete development. Their approach to teaching fencing is based on building a positive environment where everyone can excel in the fascinating sport of fencing, challenge and learn new things about their physical, mental, and athletic capabilities, and grow into evermore compassionate and thoughtful people.
